The K&H SZÉP Card enables you to use the services of several hundreds of hotels and various accommodation, restaurants and places offering fun activities. In 2020, your employer can transfer benefits to the K&H SZÉP Card with discount!

how can I apply for a new card?

  • you can apply for a new K&H SZÉP Card in the branches of K&H Bank, free of charge
  • three bank accounts (accommodation, hospitality and recreation subaccounts) are linked to the K&H SZÉP Card to which your employer can directly transfer the SZÉP Card employer benefits
  • you can even apply for a SZÉP co-card for your close relatives and spouse/partner at any K&H Bank branch, now free of charge as part of our current special offer

how much can I receive as benefit in 2020?

In accordance with Government Decree No. 140/2020 (21 April) employers operating in the private sector can provide benefits for up to HUF 800,000 per year while employers operating in the public sector can provide benefits for up to HUF 400,000 per year in 2020 under preferential taxation.

Allocations also increased in 2020:

  • instead of HUF 225,000, the employer can now transfer HUF 400,000 to the accommodation subaccount
  • instead of HUF 150,000, the employer can now transfer HUF 265,000 to the hospitality subaccount
  • instead of HUF 75,000, the employer can now transfer HUF 135,000 to the recreation subaccount

as SZÉP Card benefit under preferential taxation.

Benefits transferred before 31 December 2020 are exempt from social contribution tax, so employers are only liable to pay personal income tax on these SZÉP Card benefits.

Employers may also provide SZÉP Card benefits on top of the allocation, however, the amount exceeding the allocation is subject to personal income tax as well as social contribution tax.

what can I pay for with my SZÉP Card?

Three subaccounts (previously called “wallets”) are linked to your SZÉP Card which can be used for different purposes: accommodation, hospitality and recreation. Please note that you may use your card only at the K&H SZÉP Card acceptance points.

accommodation:

  • domestic accommodation services (e.g. wellness hotel, private accommodation, bed and breakfast)
  • services provided by the accommodation (e.g. wellness treatments, sightseeing, hikes)
  • domestic packages of travel agencies
  • spa or pool admission

hospitality:

  • restaurants
  • workplace cafeteria
  • domestic accommodation services (e.g. wellness hotel, private accommodation, bed and breakfast)
  • spa or pool admission

recreation:

  • admission to amusement parks, zoos and botanical gardens
  • admission to concerts, festivals and museums
  • sports services, sports clubs, gym passes
  • admission to spas, pools and beaches
  • boating, horseback riding, bicycle rental
  • forest railway
  • health preservation, solarium
  • nonmedical therapeutic treatments, such as: physiotherapy, nursing, medical massage, chiropractor
  • domestic accommodation services (e.g. wellness hotel, private accommodation, bed and breakfast)

how can I activate my card?

how can I pay with my card?

  • you can use your SZÉP card at the SZÉP Card acceptance points, on bank POS terminals, online, on the website of the merchant or via telephone,
  • the K&H SZÉP Card can also be used for paying accommodation booking deposit
  • there is no PIN code linked to the card; you can certify your personal identity upon payment with your signature and a photo ID
  • when transacting online, you must also indicate the password belonging to the card
  • when performing transactions through the telephone customer service, identification is done by asking security questions
  • for transactions performed on POS terminals or online, a receipt will be issued, or you can ask for one
  • no cash withdrawal is allowed with the K&H SZÉP Card
  • when using the card for payment, you should pay special attention to the cost of the service being settled against the appropriate sub-account (accommodation, hospitality, recreation)
  • using the K&H SZÉP Card is free of charge

where can I obtain information about SZÉP Card points of acceptance?

with the help of the K&H SZÉP Card point of acceptance finder you can easily choose the location where you can use your card, or you can enquire directly at the given service provider.

how can I obtain information about my balance and my transactions?

  • your balance, the data of the transactions performed with your card and your account statement are accessible online on the cardholder interface in the K&H SZÉP card system
  • if you are interested only in your balance, you can also enquire it by calling the K&H SZÉP Card Customer Service (+36 1/20/30/70 335 3355 /menu item no. 7)
  • if you provide us your email address, we will send you a message about any data modification carried out online as well as about your expiring balance, card blockage and the ordering of a replacement card
     

how long is my card valid for?

  • your card is valid for 5 years from the date of its issue by the bank and will be replaced by a new one after 5 years. The new card will be mailed to you and you can use it in the same way as the original card after activation, free of charge.
  • please note that if the balance of your K&H SZÉP Card is zero, we may inactivate your card. 
  • your card may be reactivated with any top up received from your employer. If your card expired in the meantime, then K&H will send a renewed card to the main cardholder via postal mail.

can a family member use my card?

the card is issued to a specific person and only the cardholder may use it. If you want your family member or relative to also be able to use the balance on the card, then you may apply for a co-card making your family member the holder of the co-card.

what should I do if I lost my card?

if you lost your K&H SZÉP Card, you can block the card and apply for a replacement card. At K&H, applying for a replacement card is now free of charge. This condition may change later on. You can conveniently request the blocking of your card or apply for a replacement card by calling the K&H SZÉP Card Customer Service at +36 1/20/30/70 335 3355 (menu item no. 7), or by visiting any K&H Bank branch. 

where can I ask for information or help?

  • the K&H SZÉP Card Customer Service is at your disposal every day of the week between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Outside these hours the K&H SZÉP Card Customer Service only handles emergency transactions (primarily blocking and authorising SZÉP cards) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • you may also send your questions and possible complaints to szepkartya@kh.hu via email

how can I sign in to the K&H SZÉP Card system?

  • to sign in to the K&H SZÉP Card system and to activate the card, you will need the card number and the initial password (the initial password is indicated on the card delivery form)
  • when you first sign in, the system will automatically ask you to change the initial password. Once the operation is successfully completed, your card will be automatically activated
  • under the „card activation” menu, both the main cardholder and the co-card holder is entitled to activate the co-card
  • if you forgot your password, use the „forgotten password” function. If you are still unable to sign in, then call the K&H TeleCenter at +36 1/20/30/70 335 3355 (menu item no. 7, K&H SZÉP Card Customer Service) where our colleagues will be pleased to assist you
  • if an incorrect sign in attempt is made 7 times in a row within 24 hours, the system will block the user for 24 hours and the ID will be suspended. At the end of the 24-hour blocking period, you can try to sign in again, and the forgotten password function will once again be available.
