it’s convenient, but…
2023. november 18. - … it can be dangerous. Take care when you are wireless.
There are programs that criminals and hackers single out for exploiting vulnerabilities in them to penetrate computers or smartphones in order to steal data. It happens even to the products of the biggest and most well-known software companies that spend hundreds of millions of dollars, or billions of forints, on security. When vulnerabilities are found in a software product, its maker tries to patch it as soon as possible, but this effort only translates into improved protection if you actually update your installation.
Therefore, it is important to take the updating of software seriously, be they operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android or iOS, or applications like e-mail clients, messaging apps and the like. Most software applications can be set to look for updates automatically, which ensures that you never miss the latest version. While updating is important with every software product, it is especially so with your antivirus software. And one more thing: never root or jailbreak your smartphone. It will not get a bit smarter, but you may disable some of its security features. Furthermore, install applications only from the official marketplaces (Google Play, App Store) because those products get regularly inspected.
With all your programs and applications updated you can enjoy much more security than with outdated versions.
Protect yourself from online fraud. Be security-conscious.
